Once again another CPAC has come and gone. First of all I want to thank all of you who were able to join us, and show your support at CPAC. We are thrilled with the momentum we have and for the amazing people who are supporting our efforts, including all of you. Individuals from around the country showed their support and interest. Virginia and the Northeast all show promising potential for this year with our local affiliates.

However, this is not the time to become complacent about our work. It can be difficult to stay motivated when the enemy is weakest. With Lent upon us, we are reminded as Catholics to take our faith more seriously, through spiritual fasting, and physical fasting, along with growing by various means of spiritual growth. Many of you have given something up, or taken on an extra task for Lent. I am reminded that the more religiously involved you are, the more likely you are to be conservative. With this in mind I want to ask all of you, in the spirit of Lent, to take on another small role.

Many of you have already told your friends and family about us, and for this we thank you sincerely. I ask that you all bring a friend who has lost sight of the Church back to a weekly mass, and then out to coffee to discuss politics and faith. Don’t belittle their ideas, or thoughts, as they are the statistical group who voted for Obama; rather use the occasion to ask critical thinking questions as a friend. This is the purest form of grassroots activism–helping a friend. And it works.
